Summer Hymn Sing

During our summer Sunday services (June through Labor Day weekend), we have an ongoing "hymn-sing," where we sing hymns selected by members of the congregation. If you have a favorite hymn or two (or more), please let us know by submitting them in the hymn box located at the rear door of the church on the ushers table (there are slips of paper there for you to write on).We can't promise that all suggested hymns make it into a service, but we will do our best to include all of your suggestions.

Flat St. Paul made it to Alaska. My daughters and I took a serious hike to and onto the Mendenhall glacier with a visit to the ice cave underneath. The next day on an ocean kayak expedition to search out bald eagles (8), sea lions (1) and many flopping salmon (many).

The Yard Sale is Coming up on September 9! Plan Ahead!
undefined
The annual GIANT St Paul's yard sale is scheduled for Saturday September 9. Volunteers will be needed for sorting and set-up the week before (Monday through Friday night), all day Saturday, including clean up folks later that afternoon and evening.
Contact Stephen Estes-Smargiassi (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or 617-522-0572 or the
church office to sign up.
Of course, we're looking for your stuff as well. Stockpile now, and bring books, clothes, toys, household goods, working electronics (with power cords) and furniture to the Great Hall any time from Sunday September 3 on. We can accept some early drop offs if necessary. Contact Steve in advance.

Special note regarding electronics donations:
Before donating any electronic items or small appliances, please make sure they are in good working order, and that all related accessories are packed together, especially power cords (place power cords in ziploc bags labeled with the appliance name). We want to avoid having our volunteers spend extra time on rechecking appliances, or worse, selling something that doesn't work!
Ministry Outside the Parish (M.O.P.) Speakers' Series
Do you know how St. Paul's responded to the crisis in Syria? Well, we will be bringing the answer to you. On September 17 at 11:30am in the Lichtenberger Room, Nadia Alawa,
co-founder and president of NuDay Syria, will speak about their work in Syria. NuDay Syria is dedicated to providing humanitarian and development aid specifically to Syrian mothers and children. They also help resettle families with no breadwinners and provide sponsorships to Syrian orphans. In 2015 Nadia gave a Ted Talk on her journey to beginning NuDay Syria; please click here to listen.
