Welcome to Eliza Marth, our new Life Together Intern, starting at St. Paul's on August 25

Hello there! My name is Eliza Marth and I am thrilled to be with the St. Paul's family as a first year Micah Fellow in the Life Together Program. I hail from the mountains of  North Carolina by way of the Chicago area. In 2012, I graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh with a BA in Sociology and a call to explore ordination into the Episcopal priesthood. After graduating, I had the great privilege of doing two years of direct service with the unemployed and homeless in Washington, DC. I have spent the past year on small-scale, diversified vegetable and livestock farms in North Carolina. There I learned about the hard work creating food security, and I also had space to reflect on my time in DC and the heartbreaking experience of being with our society's forgotten. It is in this context that I officially have entered into the discernment process in the Diocese of North Carolina. As part of the process, I am required to do a parish internship and am absolutely thrilled to be doing that internship through the Life Together program with St. Paul's! It will be a wonderful opportunity to get to know my extended Episcopal family in Boston. I have spent the summer as an intern at Society of Saint John the Evangelist in Cambridge, "gettin' prayed up." If you happen to be by the monastery in the next couple of weeks, please say hello!

I'm a bubbly extrovert who loves animals, spirituality, and getting to know people. Thank you for welcoming me to be a part of your spiritual family and I cannot wait for the adventures that lie ahead!
Our New "Messaging" System: What a better way to communicate !
Check out our new "messaging" system in the parish office when you are here on Sunday morning or anytime during the week (it's near the stained glass windows). Did you know that all staff members have a mail slot where you can leave messages for them?: Rev. Jeff Mello, Rev. Megan Holding, Andy Clarkson, our childcare staff, Hazel Johnson, Eliza Marth, James Santagati, Jill Seiler-Moon, and Lucy Sewall. Many of our ministries also have mail slots where you can leave messages for our wardens, treasurer, vestry, church school, historian, altar guild, buildings & grounds, choir, flower guild, hospitality, M.O.P., newcomers, ushers, and food pantry. The following forms are also available for your taking: census, check request, instructions for collection counters, building rental form, stewardship welcome letter, pledge cards, ministry pledge cards, newcomer cards, a parish people directory, and customary for ushers. While it's not electronic at all, it will provide us with another tangible way to communicate with each other, which is what God wants us to do! As St. Paul's continues to grow, so will our messaging system. Your Parish Administrator...~ Jill
Summer Hymn Sing
During our summer Sunday services (mid-June through Labor Day weekend), we have an ongoing "hymn-sing," in which we sing hymns selected by members of the congregation. We can't promise that all suggested hymns will make it into a service; but we will do our best to include all suggestions.
The Yard Sale is Coming; Volunteers Needed
The annual giant St Paul's yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, September 12.  Come meet our neighbors, raise some money for the church and have a great time. Volunteers will be needed for sorting and set-up the week before (Monday through Friday nights), all day Saturday, including clean-up folks later that afternoon and evening.  Contact Stephen Estes-Smargiassi at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 617-522-0572 or the church office to sign up. Of course, we're looking for your stuff as well. Bring books, clothes, toys, household goods, electronics and furniture to the Great Hall any time from Sunday, August 31 on.  Bring bikes any time between now and the sale.
