Welcome to The Rev. Miriam Gelfer
We are pleased to welcome the Rev. Miriam Gelfer to St. Paul's as our preacher and presider this week. Miriam has ministered in a wide variety of roles, in both parish and academic settings, and she recently accepted a new call as Associate Rector of the Parish of the Epiphany in Winchester. We welcome her warmly and look forward to worshiping with her this weekend.
Music Night: August 13
It is time for another sing along! Please join us on Thursday August 13 at 6pm at the home of Julie Starr and George Coggeshall: 33 Kent Square in Brookline. We will be singing and playing any songs that are requested - religious or secular. From Amazing Grace to Taylor Swift, anything is possible. If you have a request, please bring at least 10 copies of the lyrics and the music if possible. We will have some food and snacks, feel free to bring something to contribute if you'd like. Email or call Melissa Dulla if you have any questions: 650-743-6745  or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Morning Prayer to be Offered August 16
The service of Morning Prayer will be said at both 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM on Sunday, August 16. A beautiful and ancient service of the Anglican/Episcopal Church, Morning Prayer comes from the service of "Matins" said in monasteries and convents for centuries. Many of us who grew up in the Episcopal Church remember saying Morning Prayer. We are excited to be able to offer this Morning Prayer worship service, led by the Rev. Andrea Castner Wyatt. We look forward to sharing this much beloved service from the Book of Common Prayer.
Summer Hymn Sing
During our summer Sunday services (mid-June through Labor Day weekend), we have an ongoing "hymn-sing," in which we sing hymns selected by members of the congregation. We can't promise that all suggested hymns will make it into a service; but we will do our best to include all suggestions.
The Yard Sale is Coming; Volunteers Needed
The annual giant St Paul's yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, September 12.  Come meet our neighbors, raise some money for the church and have a great time. Volunteers will be needed for sorting and set-up the week before (Monday through Friday nights), all day Saturday, including clean-up folks later that afternoon and evening.  Contact Stephen Estes-Smargiassi at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 617-522-0572 or the church office to sign up. Of course, we're looking for your stuff as well. Bring books, clothes, toys, household goods, electronics and furniture to the Great Hall any time from Sunday, August 31 on.  Bring bikes any time between now and the sale.
