Adult Formation for Advent - "The Way of Love - Practices for Jesus centered Life'

This past summer at General Convention, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry invited Episcopalians to join him on The Way of Love, describing it in this way:

Before they were called "church" or "Christian," this Jesus Movement was simply called "the way."

...how can we together grow more deeply with Jesus Christ at the center of our lives, so we can bear witness to his way of love in and for the world?

The deep roots of our Christian tradition may offer just such a path. For centuries, monastic communities have shaped their lives around rhythms and disciplines for following Jesus together. Such a pattern is known as a "Rule of Life." The framework you now hold - The Way of Love: Practices for Jesus-Centered Life - outlines a Rule for the Episcopal branch of the Jesus Movement.

The Way of Love is organized around seven practices - Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, and Rest. Each Sunday during our seven-week Advent, we will explore a different practice as it relates to the Advent season of expectation. You can learn more about The Way of Love by clicking HERE.

Adult Formation: Go - Bishop Gayle Harris on the Prophets

"As Jesus went to the highways and byways, he sends us beyond our circles and comfort, to witness to the love, justice, and truth of God with our lips and with our lives." The Way of Love

Blue Christmas: The Christmas season can be challenging. Our "Blue Christmas" service allows us to find a calm and quiet place to contemplate our lives and families, the year just past and the one to come. Everyone is welcome!

It's BE AN ANGEL Sunday!

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered. Please bring your gift bags this Sunday and drop them off in the middle room. I will be there accepting the donations beginning at 9am.

If you are still interested in making a donation to the program, $25 gift cards from Target and Stop and Shop would be most welcome. The youth group went shopping last weekend and did a wonderful job! Thanks to all who helped.

I am looking for three volunteers to help load the truck with gifts on Monday, December 17 at 9:30-10:30am. Email me if you can help. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Thank you all for offering the time, energy, and financial resources to purchase gifts that will help to make the holidays a magical time for many children and families.
