January 7        Nurturing Young Disciples: Campus Ministry in our Time  What is it like being a young Christian in this increasingly secular age, and how can we as Church more faithfully serve and support students and others in Gen X, Gen Y, and beyond? Rev. Megan Holding will share her experience as Episcopal chaplain at Northeastern University.

January 14        We Have a Dream: Continuing the Vision of Martin Luther King, Jr   Opportunities for all ages for learning, reflection, and action around issues of racial diversity and justice. Three spaces - the chapel, the Lichtenberger Room, and the Great Hall - will be set up for various activities preparing us to commemorate the Martin Luther King holiday and create a commonwealth of blessing and peace.

January 21        Baptism, Confirmation, and Reception: Rites of Initiation, Part 1   What does it mean to be baptized into the Body of Christ? Why does it matter? How does the Anglican/Episcopal tradition understand the sacrament of baptism, and how does baptism serve as the foundation for the priesthood of all believers?

January 28        Baptism, Confirmation, and Reception: Rites of Initiation, Part 2   What does it mean to be confirmed by a bishop, or received into the Episcopal Church? If baptism is full initiation into the Body of Christ, do I need to be confirmed or received? What's the difference between confirmation, reception, and reaffirmation of baptismal vows?

On Thursday, January 4 at 6:00pm the Right Reverend Alan M. Gates, Bishop of Massachusetts, will ordain Amanda March to the Sacred Order of Priests at the Parish of St. Paul's in Newton Highlands (1135 Walnut St., Newton).  St. Paul's, Brookline sponsored Amanda for ordination and we rejoice at the occasion of her ordination to the Priesthood.  All are invited to join Amanda for this celebration!
