Food Pantry

Over the past few years, the number of visits to the Brookline Emergency Food Pantry continued to climb, with more individuals and families registering to use the Panty and many of our clients coming more often.  Between 2010 and 2013 the food pantry experienced a dramatic 96.5% increase in the number of visits.

The additional use of the pantry has required a significant increase in food purchased by the pantry, funded exclusively through donations.  In the past 4 years, the cost to purchase the necessary amount of food has increased an astounding 165% rising from $77,000 in 2010 to $107,000 in 2013.
